Gentse Feesten Parking & Travel Guide
The Ghent Festivities is one of the largest cultural festivals in Europe, transforming the entire historic city center of Ghent.
🚗 Driving & Parking Guide
Ghent's city center is completely closed to cars. Do not attempt to drive into the center. Park at the large Park & Ride (P+R) zones on the outskirts (P+R Flanders Expo, P+R Gent-Sint-Pieters, or P+R Decathlon) and take a free tram or shuttle bus straight into the festival zone.
🚆 Trains & Shuttle Services
Ghent is easily reached by train via Gent-Sint-Pieters or Gent-Dampoort stations. Trams run 24/7 during the festival to shuttle visitors between the stations and the city center.
🚲 Alternative Transit (Taxis, Cycling, Airports)
Ride-hailing (Uber) is available in Ghent, and temporary taxi stands are placed at the perimeter of the festival zone (e.g., Gent-Sint-Pieters station and Dampoort). Shared bikes like Donkey Republic or the local Velo systems are ideal, with extra temporary bicycle parks set up around the city center. For international arrivals, take the direct train from Brussels Airport (BRU) straight to Gent-Sint-Pieters.
🌱 Low Emission Zone (LEZ) Compliance
Ghent is a strict Low Emission Zone. If you plan to park inside the city limits (outside the highway ring), you must check your vehicle's compliance and register it in advance.
